José Pazos is born in Irún, Spain.
He made his elementary studies in his city music
school before going to the French conservatoires
in Bayonne and later in Orleans.
In 1998 he is engaged by the Grand Théâtre de Tours,
in France like professional choir member, and in
2000 he is re-engaged by the prestigious Grand
Théâtre de Genève, in Switzerland.
Since 1998 José Pazos has been asked to sing a lot
of second roles in both Opera houses, like Arbace
(Idomeneo), Albazar (Il Turco in Italia), Aubry
(Mariah di Rohan), Parpignol (La Bohème) or
Gastone (La Traviata) among others.
All these engagements helped him to find the way for
a step further in his career, and in 2002 he makes
his premiere as principal soloist at the Saint Moritz
Festival with the role of Alfredo in La Traviata.

As Oratorio singer, he sings the Misa Criolla y La Navidad Nuestra (Ramírez) many times every year in Switzerland and Germany, the Mozart’s Requiem in Geneva and Lausanne, the Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, the Misa en Do M by Beethoven, the Nelsonmesse by Haydn, the Misa pro Defunctis by F.Von Suppé, Rejoice of the lamb by Britten with the Geneva Opera House choir, Misa di Gloria by Puccini in Morges,Gex, Divonne, Basel, Frick and Geneva, the Verdi Requiem at the Rochester Cathedral (UK), Clermont-Ferrand, Thiers (Fr) and in a tournée in the Island of La Réunion, Obadja - Ahab in Mendelssohn’s Elias in Frick and Basel, or Soutrinka in Dogora in Geneva.
José Pazos has done a big number of recitals too, with different orchestras, in places like the Hotel de Ville, the Grand Thèâtre, Temple de la Fusterie, Auditoire Calvin, La Société Nautique de genève, the Teatro Principal de Santiago de Compostela, or the Victoria Hall in Genève, as well as in the prestigious hotels Culloden, Stormont and Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland, The Merrion in Dublin, and in Ennis Golfclub in Ireland.
